On-Line Inspection of Plastic Film Webs. The On-Line Strain Viewers can be used to detect faults and check for even tensions in plastic film webs during production runs. The Strain Viewers are produced to satisfy customer requirements and can be designed to be used either vertically or horizontally. The systems involve the provision of a suitable polarised light source on one side of the plastic web and the strain pattern is observed through an analyser on the other side of the web.
